The Barrington High School baseball team defeated Woonsocket and Burrillville and improved to 7-2 in Division II standings last week.
The Eagles knocked off the Novans 8-3 on Wednesday, April 24, and then beat the Broncos 10-4 on Saturday.
Against Burrillville, Quinn Murphy blasted two homers and had a sacrifice fly to drive in five runs. Barrington rallied twice from two-run deficits — in the fourth inning, Murphy hit a solo home run, and in the fifth, he blasted a three-run inside the park homer.
Fin Thomson and Nick Scandura each hit two-run singles and Luke Tanous scored all the way from second on a Trevor Snow sacrifice fly to deep center.
Alex Anderson, Nate Coutant and Connor Marley shared pitching duties for the Eagles.
Against Woonsocket, Thomson went 2-for-3 with two runs driven-in to lead Barrington’s offense. Miles Fontaine hit a two-run single which keyed a five-run third inning for the Eagles. Gabe Tanous tripled and Murphy doubled. Barrington also played errorless defense.
Jack Lawson pitched well for the Eagles in the victory.
Barrington will host Johnston on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., and travels to North Providence on Saturday for a noon game. Barrington will play at Chariho on Monday, May 6.
