The Barrington High School boys tennis team improved to 5-0 with wins over Mount St. Charles and Lincoln last week. The Eagles beat the Mounties, 5-2, and the Lions 6-1.
“Our depth has been the greatest strength of the team this year,” said Barrington High School Coach Story Salit. “All doubles are still undefeated on the season.”
Barrington’s doubles teams rolled to straight set wins against Lincoln. The number one doubles team of Gabe Anderson and Garrett Meehan won 6-1, 6-1, while Connor Meehan and Justin Kuo won at number two doubles, 6-2, 6-2. At third doubles, Carlo Flores and Jason Lu won 6-3, 6-2.
Luke Sapolsky won his match at number one singles, 6-3, 6-4, and Charlie Martin won at number three singles, 6-3, 6-3. At number four singles, Bryce Kupperman won 6-3, 6-3.
Barrington’s doubles teams played well against Mount St. Charles also. The number one team of Kupperman and Henry Birbiglia won 6-2, 6-0, while Jeremy Kuo and Jason Lu won at number two doubles, 6-1, 6-1. At number three doubles, Zachary Spear and Flores won 6-0, 6-1. Vineet Abbineni won his match at number three singles, 6-3. 6-3, and Gabe Anderson cruised to victory in the number four singles match, 6-1, 6-0.
