Words Unlimited, the statewide organization of sportswriters, sportscasters and sports publicists, will hold its 71st annual Sports Awards Banquet on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Radisson Airport Hotel in Warwick.

Included among this year's award winners are Don Denham and Ron Enos.

Denham, the boys' soccer coach at Barrington, was named Schoolboy Sports Coach of the Year, while Enos, the girls' volleyball coach at BHS, was named Schoolgirl Sports Coach of the Year.

Denham's soccer team won the Division I state championship this fall. Enos's volleyball team also won a Division I title this year — his team also won a Division II championship last year.

Tickets for the banquet are $35 each and may be obtained by contacting Words Unlimited President John Parente at 401-826-0555 or any Words Unlimited member.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
