Barrington police responded to a possible DUI incident at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23.
An officer spotted a car driving south in the northbound lane of the Wampanoag Trail. The officer was able to quickly order the vehicle over to the side of the road and spoke with the driver — an older East Providence man.
The man told police he had left his daughter's home about an hour earlier and had gotten lost. Police contacted one of the man's family members who stopped by to help get the man home.
Police also issued the man a summons for driving the wrong way on the road.
