Collette M. Sonderegger, 79, of Barrington

Collette M. (Yamaoka) Sonderegger, 79, of Barrington, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at R.I. Hospital. She was the wife of Henry Sonderegger.

Collette was born in New York, New York, a daughter of the late George and Mimi (D’Auriac) Yamaoka.

Mrs. Sonderegger, was the administrator of the urban studies department, at Brown University for over 25 years, before retiring.

She has been a Barrington resident since 1976, coming from Bristol, where she lived from 1966 to 1974 and previously New York City.
Collette was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Barrington, she enjoyed bowling, golf and playing bridge.

She was also a member of the Barrington YMCA Swim Team Moms, and also a member of the Barrington Women’s Club.

Besides her husband she is survived by her son Kurt Sonderegger of Encititas, Calif., her daughter Krista Concannon of Barrington. She was the loving grammy of Matthew, Paige and Audrey.

She will be loved and missed by all.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, at 2:30 p.m. in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, burial will follow in the Memorial Garden at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Saturday from 12 -2:30pm.
