Facebook posts attributed to convicted cat killer Anthony Stravato paint a disturbing picture of a young man fascinated with death and killing.
Mr. Stravato, 25, was released from the ACI last Friday, Aug. 5, after serving a sentence for felony animal mutilation and other crimes; police said he mutilated the family cat nearly two years ago, and also made online threats and intimidated witnesses.

In Facebook posts that abruptly end two days after his arrest by Warren police last July, Mr. Stravato — who refers to himself as “Anthony Homiecidez Stravato” — writes about his propensity to kill, and the fact that he may one day become a serial killer (note that minor structural edits have been made to ease readability):
“Ill prob be tha next serial killer since I have a serial killer trait,” he wrote on Wednesday, July 22, a day after his arrest. “I used to watch my cats die all the time when I was young so I began to be fascinated with death when I was 6.”
“U don’t even like who u r when u kill,” replied one commenter. “So why keep doing it? To drive urself crazy?”
“Yes I do like it. I enjoyed it,” he wrote.
In his posts, Mr. Stravato attempts to explain away the killing of animals, saying it is commonplace in the world.
“Let me ask you ppl something,” he wrote. “Do you think its wrong that i kill animals but less worse than how ppl kill cows n pigs for meat. So does it make tha world any better than I am?”
“Killing animals for enjoyment to see them suffer is wrong,” came one post. “U kill just to kill which is wrong. Cows and pigs and all hunted animals are used for food.”
“So people can go hunting but not be hated. If you only knew my past,” he replied. “Its dark.”
On Thursday, July 23, two days after his arrest by Warren police on cyberstalking, bullying and intimidation charges, Mr. Stravato left a post apologizing to his girlfriend Alyssa Lamountain, who was also named in the advisory sent out late last week by the DEM:
“Dear Alyssa i love you with all my heart,” he wrote. “I would never f**k up again cuz I have someone amazin in life. I don’t want to lose you ever.”
And another post that same day:
“im so f****d.”
One of his first Facebook posts, from early in July 2015, was ominous:
“back to bein single now i can proceed with my plans…” he wrote.
“Plans?” asked one Facebook friend.
“none your business they're evil deeds.”
