Faye Louise Dieffenbach, 91, was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of William and Laurel Walker. Faye was the youngest of three children, Harvey and Alice Jane (both deceased). Growing up in Silver Spring, Md., Faye was an avid tennis player who graduated from Montgomery Blair High School, Silver Spring and Wilson Teachers College, Washington, D.C.

Faye married Alton Paige Dieffenbach in Washington, D.C in 1944. Alton died in 2005. She is survived by her two sons, Richard and Roger, three grandchildren, Brian, Eric and Adam and five great-grandchildren, Connor, Liam, Mia, Alex and Ariana.

Mrs. Dieffenbach lived in Pittsburg, Pa., Chicago, Ill., Schenectady, NY, Barrington, Morristown, NJ and retired in Covenant Village of Cromwell, Conn. 

While in Barrington for fifteen years, Faye was president of the Barrington Congregational Church Women’s Society, president of the Nayatt PTA and member of the Barrington Garden Club. Having moved to New Jersey in 1974, she was executive secretary to the vice president at Drew University in Madison, NJ. Then consequently became executive secretary to a vice president at AT&T, until her retirement in 1994, when they moved to Cromwell, Conn.
