Barrington is on its way to becoming a “Rhode Island Energy Champion” and we need your help!
Earlier this year the Barrington Town Council passed a resolution committing our town to promoting energy efficiency by participating in the "Find Your Four Challenge." Working with the non-profit organization SmartPower and our local utility company, National Grid, we are helping to get the word out about the challenge. Our goal is to get 5 percent of Barrington households to sign up at www.FindYourFour.com.
• The challenge: Identify four quick simple energy saving actions that you can take in your home to reduce your energy use. We’re talking super simple like — replacing light bulbs with LEDs, use a smart strip for your electronics, putting your computer in sleep mode, wash clothes in cold water and the list goes on.
• What to do: Go to www.FindYourFour.com and enter your name/email/town. Under “Affiliation” please make sure you select “the Town of Barrington”. Now just start finding your four!
• What is in it for Barrington: When Barrington gets 5 percent of its households signed up, National Grid will award our town $5,000 for energy improvements to a public building.
So join us as we come together and win this! Sign up today, tell your friends and family …and find your four!
