Arts Alive! will kick off its eighth season of stage performances in Barrington with Primrose Hill School's production of Peter Pan.
Students at the local elementary school have been working hard for the last 13 weeks, preparing for what promises to be a memorable play, said Pete Bilderback, the president of the board of directors for Arts Alive!
"We're very excited to kick off our eighth performance season here in Barrington, and it feels appropriate to do it with 'Peter Pan,' a play that has sparked a love of theater for generations of young and old alike," said Mr. Bilderback. "We're incredibly proud of how hard the students at Primrose Hill School have worked to bring this awfully big adventure to the stage."
Dena Davis, the artistic director for Arts Alive! added: “The kids at Primrose have been amazing this year! So much raw talent, and they are not afraid to bring big colorful characters to life! It is so nice to see all these kids become an ensemble after 13 weeks of rehearsal, and feel that all their hard work pays off in the end.”
There will be two performances — one on Friday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. and the other on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 12:30 p.m. Both performances will be at the Barrington High School auditorium.
Tickets will be available online starting Friday, Jan. 13 at http://tinyurl.com/PrimrosePeterPan for $7 each, or at the door before each performance.
In addition, audience members may purchase tickets for the raffle of a Broadway weekend getaway for two at every show. At $10 per ticket, the winner of the grand prize will get to choose two tickets to a Broadway show (“Aladdin”, “Wicked”, or “Waitress”), with flexible dates between June 1 and Oct. 31.
The prize includes a two-night stay at a 4-star hotel in Times Square, and a $100 Visa card. The drawing will be held on May 21 after the Hampden Meadows School show of “Mulan Jr.” at Barrington High School. The winner will not need to be present at the drawing to win.
