Barrington native earns college field hockey honor

Libby Dolan named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference second team

Barrington native and Williams College junior Libby Dolan was recently named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) second team for field hockey.

Libby is a forward for Williams and finished the 2017 regular season with 17 goals and 5 assists. Her 39 total points and 17 goals ranked her second in the NESCAC in both statistical categories. She also tallied 5 game winning goals during the season. 

The NESCAC is one of the strongest field hockey conferences in the country and Williams finished its season with an overall 12-5 record and a number 12 ranking in the National Division 3 poll.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
