Geoff Grove to serve as chairman, Lisa Daft is vice chairwoman

The Barrington Republican Town Committee elected Geoff Grove as chairman at its Jan. 5 meeting. 

This marks Mr. Grove’s third term as chairman; he previously served as chairman of the town's Committee on Appropriations and vice chairman of the Barrington Republican Town Committee. 

Lisa Daft was elected vice chairwoman for her second term. Ms. Daft recently served on the school department’s Strategic Planning Committee and is co-chairwoman of the BHS Afterprom Committee. 

Ray Simone will begin his seventh term as treasurer of the Barrington Republican Town Committee and was a past chairman. Mr. Simone is past president and a current member of the Barrington Booster’s Club and served on the high school improvement team for many years. 

Joan Warren was re-elected for her second term as secretary. Ms. Warren is a past chairwoman and vice chairwoman of the Barrington Republican Town Committee, co-chair of the Police Cove Committee and has served on the Board of Canvassers, Barrington Preservation Society, Board of Trustees and Charter Review Committee. 

"We are fortunate to have a board with a vast amount of public service leading our organization," stated a recent release.

The Barrington Republican Town Committee was also pleased with the recent appointment of Steve Primiano to the Committee on Appropriations. Mr. Primiano is a former member of the Town Council, Budget Forecast Committee, and currently serves on the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, RI Chamber Coalition, and Barrington Business Associaiton. 

The Barrington Republican Town Committee is accepting new members. The group's next meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at Barrington Public Library.
