Barrington High School is prepped and ready to compete in High School Quiz Show: Rhode Island.

The team of Daniel Sheinberg, Michael Lamontagne, Christina Curran, Clara Klugler, Brendan Fay and Jonny Zhang will travel to the PBS studios on Saturday morning, where they will face off against a team from Exeter-West Greenwich in a quarterfinal showdown.

The winner advances to the semifinals, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12. All rounds of the competition will be taped and then aired on Rhode Island PBS in the spring.

Barrington High School captured the top seed during the "Super Sunday Qualifying Quiz" on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Other teams to qualify for the quarterfinals include Lincoln High School, Classical, Bishop Hendricken, Lincoln School, Mt. St. Charles, and LaSalle Academy.

The tournament is single elimination and features four rounds of competition — toss-up round, head-to-head round, category round, and the lightning round.

Organizers for the competition strongly encourage the high school teams to invite guests — cheerleading squads, school mascots and fellow students. The general public is also invited to attend.
