Chung: Town is being shorted in state aid

Posted

Barrington has not received its fair share of state funding for its schools. Funding for our new middle school is not treated in the same way as other towns building new schools. We are receiving less.

Whether we are treated fairly will be decided in the next legislative session. It will all depend on the skill and effectiveness of the town's representatives at the Statehouse. Every dollar that doesn't come from the state will have to come from property taxes. The quality of our schools and the amount of our property taxes are at stake.

I entered this race because I believe I have the background, skills and experience to maximize the fair share of the state's funding of our new middle school, and our schools in general. Please vote on Wednesday.

John Chung

Barrington

Mr. Chung is a Democrat running for the House of Representatives, District 66.
