Barrington Middle School students offered a triumphant return to the stage last weekend.

After a two-year pause, BMS students returned with “Revolting: An Historical Musical Review.” The Arts Alive show brought audiences on a tour of revolts through history, including the French Revolution, The American Revolution, the Labor Revolt in 1899 and a few other surprises.

Elizabeth Jones, the executive director for Arts Alive!, said everyone was excited about the return of local student-performed theater.

“We are grateful to the BPS administration, teachers, staff, and custodians as well as our Arts Alive! families, and the business community for their continued support over the last two years,” Jones said. “This exciting return to the stage with the BMS/ Arts Alive! production of Revolting! would not have been possible without their support, and for that we are deeply grateful to have been able to provide this opportunity to the students." 

Students shared multiple performances last weekend at Barrington High School. 

“The joy of the cast and crew to be back on stage could be felt by all,” said Dena Davis, co-founder and artistic director of Arts Alive! “These kids made us all so proud - not only with their extraordinary performance, but also their inclusivity and support of one another. We hope that next year they can rehearse and perform at their own school in the new auditorium!"
