Rory McIlroy is coming to Rhode Island.

In fact, McIlroy will be coming to Barrington for this year's CVS Health Charity Classic. McIlroy is one of the top-ranked professional golfers in the world and will be joining a talented field at the annual event.

This year’s Classic will be a one-day tournament featuring 18 of the nation’s top golfers. On Monday, June 25, six PGA TOUR, six PGA TOUR- Champions and six LPGA Tour professionals will take to the greens of Rhode Island Country Club in teams of three.

Each team will be made up of one player from each respective Tour. The top two scores from each hole per team will be counted towards its final score. The lowest team score at the end of 18 holes will be named the Champions of the 2018 Charity Classic.

In addition to McIlroy, this year's field of golfers will feature current PGA Tour pros Keegan Bradley, Jim Furyk, Billy Horschel, Sam Saunders, Xander Schauffele, LPGA Tour pros Paula Creamer, Brooke Henderson, Cristie Kerr, Morgan Pressel, Lexi Thompson, So Yeon Ryu, and PGA Tour-Champions pros Billy Andrade, Joe Durant, Brad Faxon, Scott McCarron, Colin Montgomerie and Mark O’Meara.

“We are excited to celebrate 20 years of great golf for great charities,” said Eileen Howard Boone, tournament chairperson for the CVS Health Charity Classic. “We are grateful to the golf professionals who come out each year to support our nonprofit community and proud to host a series of events that everyone in our home state can enjoy.”

The Charity Classic has donated more than $21 million to area nonprofits since 1999.

The CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series will also include:

• Crave RI – Kicking off the 2018 event series, this two-day, family-friendly culinary celebration featuring Rhode Island’s finest will include 100 restaurants and more than 150 beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverage profiles. The food festival will return to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in downtown Providence on June 21 and 22.

• Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am – The CVS Health Charity Classic has once again partnered up with New England sports teams to bring celebrity athletes to the Charity Classic. The Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox will all be represented at the second annual Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am on Sunday, June 24 at the Rhode Island Country Club.
