Sean Bonneau knocked down two early three-pointers and helped the Eagles build a 19-7 lead over Portsmouth in the first quarter.

Barrington’s defense extended the margin to 35-15 at the half, and the Eagles cruised to a 63-41 victory. Evan Anderson played exceptional defense to spur the run.

Barrington’s scoring breakdown was Matt Raffa with 18, Nick Scandura with 17, Bonneau with 11, Dan Coogan with 7, Ryan Rigamonti with 4, while Anderson, Matt Leonard and Caleb Satisfield rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.

Barrington improved to 7-5 overall and 5-3 in league play. The five wins allow Barrington to qualify for the Division 1 playoffs.

“Please know how much we appreciate the support at our home games,” BHS Coach Mike Raffa wrote in an email to the Times. “We're 5-1 at the Nest and have outscored our opponents 411-271.”

Barrington’s next home game is Jan. 23 against Cumberland — that game is also the NBC10 High School Hoops game of the week.
