To the editor:

Talk about first world problems, am I right? Mr. Blanchard was my favorite teacher at BHS, and without him I wouldn’t have passed senior project. He is honest, and kind and helpful and fair. And I think it’s completely wrong of you to smear his reputation all over town over something that was definitely a misunderstanding. 

He encouraged your kid to not only do the assignment, but to go and try to enact real change in the world with his research. And you think he’s, what? Actually threatening your child?  I noticed every single person was consulted in this rigamarole; your peers, the principal, the superintendent— what are you gonna do next, call his mommy? The one person you didn’t talk to was the man himself, so you all could just discuss like adults how to handle this and let him explain himself. Mr. Blanchard always treats his students with respect like the young adults they are, and yet you’ve handled the situation so much less than adult. 

Mr. Blanchard always helped me above and beyond, and helped me to foster my creativity, and never failed to let the class know how proud he was of us and how sure he was of greatness in our future. He’s a great person and I hope he faces no consequences for something as silly as this.
