Dear Peter: Back off!!

I’m happy for you and your relationship with your God and religion, however, there’s a reason for separation of Church and State, so please stop preaching to me.

Be careful when you proclaim your beliefs in the name of the unborn, as you may be trampling on another person’s, namely, a woman’s, a mother’s, rights.

The decision is 100 percent between a woman and her health care provider, and, simply put, is NO ONE else’s business. There can be millions of reasons a woman may choose and/or need to abort...and, NO ONE, not you, not the Catholic Church (who, if I may remind you, have had their own struggles with integrity of late), not any us, all inherently flawed, have the right to invalidate!

Keep it Legal!  Keep it Safe!  Keep it Right!

And, mind your own business!!

Good day.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
