'Little Shop' coming to Barrington High School
Performances set for this weekend
The Barrington High School Stagemasters will be performing "Little Shop of Horrors" this weekend in the John R. Gray Auditorium located at Barrington High School, 220 Lincoln Ave.
Based on the 1950s movie about a man-eating plant, the Stagemasters production embraces the campy vibe of the 1982 musical and takes on a comic book feel. The story revolves around the hapless florist's assistant, Seymour, after he discovers a new breed of Venus flytrap. Things take a sinister turn in this musical comedy as Seymour discovers that the plant will only eat blood.
Barrington High School seniors Chris Finn and Natalie Tisler play Seymour and Audrey, respectively. The two find themselves stuck between a hard life on Skid Row and a murderous man-eating plant. (Nate Dirksen and Caroline Orchard are the understudies.)
Showtimes are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.
