Michael A. Panarello, Jr., 84, formerly of Barrington

Michael A. Panarello, Jr., age 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Crestwood Nursing & Convalescent Home in Warren. Born July 15, 1933, in Barrington, he was the son of the late Michael A. and the late Mary Ellen (Brett) Panarello. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. McCarthy for 54 years and resided on Cottage Street in Bristol for most of his life.

Michael was a graduate of Barrington High School, and worked as an auto mechanic at Vic's Texaco in Barrington for over 40 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fresh water fishing, playing bingo and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael G. Panarello (Melanie) and Michele M. Bennett (Phillip) of Barrington, and Matthew Panarello (Pauline) of Seekonk; and his grandchildren, Nicholas and William Panarello, Olivia and Makayla Bennett, and Maxwell Panarello. He also leaves a brother, Louis Panarello, of Barrington, and a sister, Louise Paiva, of Riverside.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Panarello and James Panarello, and his sisters, Catherine Duffy and Jennie Panarello.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.  His burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Crestwood Nursing Home Patient Activities Center, 568 Child Street, Warren, RI 02885.
