Woman describes suspect vehicle as dark colored Wagoneer

Posted

A woman contacted Barrington police on Tuesday, Feb. 27, after she was struck by a vehicle while she was riding her bicycle.

The woman said she was crossing Bay Spring Avenue on the bike path — one truck had stopped to let her pass, but as she crossed over the next lane another vehicle clipped her rear tire. The woman said she crashed, and her bicycle was damaged. The suspect vehicle — described as an older, dark-colored Jeep Wagoneer — did not stop.

Police tracked down a man who works in the area and drives a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle, but he said he was in Warren when the accident occurred.
