Police say teens are responsible for graffiti all over Barrington

Two 16-year-old boys — one from Barrington and the other from Middletown — are facing vandalism charges.

Barrington Police said they received a tip that some teenagers who had been "tagging" or vandalizing signs and other items in town had been spotted writing graffiti on a mailbox at the U.S. Post Office on Middle Highway at about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.

Officers responded to the U.S. Post Office, but the teens were not there. Police searched the surrounding area and found three teenagers matching the description of the suspects walking along the East Bay Bike Path near Middle Highway.

Police said the teens had special markers that were used to write on the mailbox. Police charged the two 16-year-olds with vandalism/malicious injury to property. A 15-year-old boy was not charged.
