Barrington police helped track down three missing people last week.
On Monday, April 2, a 9-year-old Barrington boy went missing from the Bayside YMCA. The boy had been swimming and went to the locker room to change, but he never came out to the lobby, said his babysitter. A search ensued. The boy was later located at his home about a mile away. The boy told police he walked home because he thought his babysitter left without him. Police believe the boy left the YMCA through a rear exit door.
Also on April 2, a Bristol teenager was reported missing and was later seen walking on Federal Road at about 11:30 p.m. The teen told police he wanted to go to his school, which is located in Barrington, and did not like being in Bristol.
And on Friday, April 6, a Barrington man called police to report his 14-year-old son missing. The teenager failed to return home after saying that he was going to hang out with friends at about 4:30 p.m. Police spotted an individual matching the teenager's description walking on the bike path at about 1:20 a.m. The boy's father responded to the scene and brought his son home.
