Barrington Police responded to the Barrington Shopping Center for an alleged road rage incident on Monday, March 11.

A motorist was driving down Maple Avenue when a car traveling behind her beeped at her when she came to a stop in the middle of the road. The second vehicle then followed the first vehicle as it traveled to the Barrington Shopping Center.

The woman in the first vehicle parked her car in the lot, got out of her car and then approached the second vehicle to ask the driver why he was following her.

At that point the driver of the second vehicle took out his cell phone and dialed 911. The woman also dialed 911.

Police spoke to both motorists about the incident — the driver of the second vehicle said he only followed the first vehicle because he was taking his children to get a haircut in the shopping center. No one was charged.
