Barrington Police responded to a convenience store on Willett Avenue at about 12:20 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8 after residents claimed they were nearly attacked by a man holding a brick.
Two Barrington residents told police officers they were driving through Latham Park a few minutes earlier that night when a man stepped out in front of their vehicle. They said the man was holding a brick in his hand and threatening to throw it through the windshield of their vehicle.
The Barrington residents left the scene quickly and then called police. Officers responded to Latham Park to search for the man but could not locate him. They also checked the surrounding area, including Haines Park, but the search was negative.
