A 28-year-old Riverside resident is suspected of stealing 18 cans of baby formula from the Shaw's Supermarket in the Barrington Shopping Center.

Police said the Riverside resident entered the store just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, and then walked out of the building with 18 cans of baby formula that he did not pay for. Each can of formula is valued at $19.99.

Store employees said they were familiar with the man, adding that he was wearing a black hat and black jacket during the alleged shoplifting incident. Police will review video footage from store security cameras.
