Incident started at doughnut shop, then moved to park

Barrington police are investigating a fight that occurred near Veterans Park on Tuesday, May 22.

According to the police report, an 18-year-old Barrington man approached another 18-year-old Barrington man near the entrance to Veterans Park at about 6 p.m. and punched him in the face. The alleged victim later called police, who responded to the lobby of the Bayside YMCA where the victim was waiting.

The man told police that the incident first started outside the Dunkin Donuts on County Road and then moved to the park. It was not clear what sparked the fight.

Police are reviewing video footage.
