Barrington poses question to Barrington Police after finding cash

So, what are the rules about claiming found money?

That's what one Barrington resident asked Barrington Police on Monday, April 22. The Prospect Street resident told police officers he recently found some cash in the parking lot outside the Shaw's Supermarket and Citizens Bank in the Barrington Shopping Center.

The man said he turned the money into the bank, which planned to hold the cash until someone claimed it. The Prospect Street resident asked police what his rights were to claiming the cash if the rightful owner did not turn up.

Police instructed the man to speak with officials at the bank. However, if anyone has any information about this incident, they should call police at 437-3930.
