St. Andrew’s School will welcome Ray Cross ’04 as the new director of enrollment management in July.
Mr. Cross is currently the director of enrollment management at Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, Conn.
Mr. Cross earned his B.A. from Providence College and a M.A. from West Virginia University. While at Providence College, he was a member of the basketball team, earning Big East All-Academic Team honors in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons.
Mr. Cross previously served as the director of admission at Marianapolis and the associate director of admission and English faculty member at Hillside School in Marlborough, Mass.
In addition to his work in the admission office, Mr. Cross is on the board of directors for the Catholic Boarding School Association, a member of the advisory board for the Virginia Eaton Multicultural Resource Center, and the former boarding school committee chair for the Study Connecticut Initiative.
He frequently presents at the Enrollment Management Association, Independent Educational Consultant Association, and Small Boarding Schools Association annual conferences.
“When he returns home to St. Andrew's, Ray will bring a decade of experience as an administrator, teacher, coach, dorm parent, and advisor,” said St. Andrew's School Headmaster David Tinagero.
It certainly will be a homecoming for Mr. Cross.
“Being the beneficiary of a St. Andrew’s School education, I witnessed firsthand how powerfully transformative the experience can be," he said. "The mission and philosophy both embraced and practiced at St. Andrew’s School truly resonate with me as an alumnus and professional."
While a student at St. Andrew’s, Mr. Cross was the 2004 King Medal Winner, an honor awarded each year since 1898 to one student who best epitomizes the character of the school.
Mr. Cross added, “The community's commitment to embracing, encouraging, educating, and empowering students certainly served me well. I am excited for the opportunity to help current and future Saints benefit similarly. I'm returning home, and it feels great!”
