Barrington police are investigating a few larcenies from motor vehicles that occurred last week.
On Sunday, June 18, a Barrington woman was attending Mass at Holy Angels Church on Maple Avenue. When Mass was over, the woman returned to her car only to find that someone had smashed the front seat passenger's window and stolen her purse. The woman told police that she had hidden the purse under some other items.
A man had reportedly seen a gray Honda Accord in the area of the incident. The man told police a white man wearing a baseball cap was driving the Honda.
On Tuesday, June 13, a Washington Road resident contacted police after noticing that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles that were parked outside the home. The resident told police that a woman's purse was stolen from one of the cars, and a bicycle that had been located on the property was also missing.
According to police, a painter doing work at a neighbor's house found the woman's missing purse. Most of the cash that had been in the purse had been stolen.
