Barrington police responded to three separate incidents for missing children last week.
On Thursday, Sept. 27, a woman called police at about 10 a.m. after her daughter went missing. The woman said her daughter has anxiety issues and had left home without her backpack or cell phone. Police checked the surrounding area for the girl but could not locate her. Officers later returned to the home and discovered that she was there. The girl told police that her mother had been acting crazy and she had gone for a walk after her mother had confronted her about something.
Later that day, a Barrington man called police after his daughter went missing. The man suspected the girl might be with her friend, but when police checked with that girl, the missing girl was not there. The missing girl was later found and brought to the station. Her father picked her up.
Early Friday morning, Sept. 28, a Maple Avenue resident called police after her 12-year-old son went missing. The resident said her son is deaf and had left a letter stating that he was running away. Police searched all over for the missing boy but could not find him. Police later went back to the home to speak to the boy's mother. The woman had left the home to take her other sons to school, but officers spotted something moving inside the home. The missing boy had returned to the house when it started to rain.
