Truck rips down wire and tree branch in Barrington

Resident returns home to find electric meter ripped from his house

Posted

Two weeks ago, a truck driving down Sowams Road clipped some electrical wires and temporarily knocked out power to hundreds of Barrington homes. Last week, a truck driving down Primrose Hill Road hit an electrical line and ripped the electrical meter off a home.

A Primrose Hill Road resident called police after he returned home and found the electrical meter pulled off his house. A neighbor witnessed the incident; she told police the truck hit the wire and then broke a large branch off a tree. Police were unable to locate the vehicle in question. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 17.
