Watch out for road work in Barrington this week

Lincoln Avenue and Upland Way repaving work is Wednesday

Representatives from J.H. Lynch Construction, the firm hired to repave a number of roads in town, recently shared its schedule for work with officials from Barrington public schools. Following is the scheduled road work for this week:

• Wednesday, Oct. 25 — Upland Way to Lincoln Avenue, 7 a.m. to noon; Lincoln Avenue to Middle Highway, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Thursday, Oct. 26 — Middle Highway to Washington Road, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

• Friday, Oct. 27 — Cedar Avenue and Elm Lane, including curb and sidewalk installations on Lincoln Avenue.

Officials noted that the schedule could change depending on weather conditions. For more information people can call the Barrington Department of Public Works at 247-1907.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
