A Warren woman who allegedly led police in two states on a high speed pursuit through at least seven towns early Monday morning faces a host of charges filed by police in Massachusetts, Warren and at least one other town in Rhode Island.

Irina Bublik, 30, of Davis Street, faces at least nine separate Warren charges and citations stemming from the chase and will be arraigned in Warren later this week. She was also arraigned Monday morning in Fall River District Court on other charges filed by police in that state.

The pursuit began after Warwick police attempted to stop Ms. Bublik in that city at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday. She allegedly failed to stop and instead drove through Cranston and Providence, East Providence, Seekonk, Rehoboth and Swansea, with police following, before heading toward Warren.

At about 2 a.m., police in Warren received word that Ms. Bublik’s white Toyota Corolla was headed into town via Route 136. Officers set up a post at Market and Lambert streets and saw her drive into town with Swansea police following just after 2:30 a.m. Officers clocked her traveling at 67 miles per hour.

Warren officers followed her as she turned from Market north onto Main Street, crossing the center line and driving around traffic along the way. After turning north onto Main, police noted that Ms. Bublik was traveling at 42 miles per hour on three flat tires.

The chase continued north into Barrington on Sowams Road and New Meadow Road, and then back into Seekonk and Swansea, with multiple towns’ police cruisers following behind.

The pursuit eventually ended when she pulled over in the McDonald’s parking lot at the corner of Routes 6 and 136; Swansea police officers apprehended her there.

Following the chase, Warren police filed charges and citations against her including reckless driving, eluding an officer in a high speed pursuit, speeding 11 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit, operating left of center, using an emergency breakdown lane for travel, overtaking on the left, operating left of center, driving an unsafe vehicle, failure to maintain reasonable and prudent speeds and aggressive driving. She is due in court next week on the eluding charge, and has a hearing before the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal next month on the citations.

In addition, other reports indicate that police in Massachusetts have charged her with assault and battery on a police officer, operating under the influence, driving to endanger, failure to stop for police and traffic violations.
