Voters will get a chance to meet the candidates for Town Council and Town Administrator in Bristol when the League of Women Voters and East Bay Newspapers host a public forum Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Bristol State House.

The forum, moderated by East Bay Newspapers General Manager Scott Pickering, will pit against each other the nine Town Council candidates, who are vying for five seats on the council. The forum will also feature a debate between the two candidates for Bristol Town Administrator — independents Antonio Teixeira and Steven Contente.  

Council candidates expected to take part in the forum include:

• Marco Capaldi, Republican
• Ann Gardner, Independent
• Aaron Ley, Democrat
• Patrick McCarthy, Republican
• Mary Parella, Republican
• Edward Stuart, Jr., Democrat
• Timothy Sweeney, Democrat
• Andrew Tyska, Democrat

The forum, at the Bristol State House, 240 High St., is sponsored by the League of Women Voters, East Bay Newspapers, Full Channel and the East Bay Chamber of Commerce.

A meet and greet portion of the forum is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., with the Town Council debate beginning at 7 p.m. Town Administrator candidates will face off at about 7:50 p.m.

Residents are invited to write questions on index cards, which will be read to the candidates; the moderator will choose which questions to ask from the cards.
