On Tuesday, Aug. 23, Barrington police received a call from the Barrington Public Library for a woman who was being disruptive.
When officers arrived they could hear a woman yelling; she was reportedly trying to get the library staff to allow her to use the phone to call her father for a ride.
The woman, later identified as 28-year-old Bristol resident Ashley Brown, allegedly threatened officers when they began speaking with her. A check of her ID showed she was wanted on a warrant. She was then taken into custody.
While being processed at the station, Ms. Brown told officers she could not breathe. She was transported to the hospital where she allegedly tried to hit a nurse. After being cleared from the hospital, Ms. Brown was brought to the ACI.
The bench warrant had been issued by Sixth Division District Court for failure to appear in court on a prior charge.
