Pacheco dedication honors ‘service above self’

Posted

To the editor:

This past Saturday, multitudes of citizens and dignitaries came together for the dedication of Frederico “Fred” Pacheco Square at the corner of Franklin and Wood Streets where this man’s legacy lives on in the creation of Franklin Court and Mosiaco Park.

This would not have been possible without the assistance of the government of the town of Bristol, its Departments of Public Works, Recreation and Police, Edward J. Pereira, Proprietor of the Azorean Butcher Shop, Warren Monument Company, Ramsay’s Inc., St. Mary’s Church and East Bay Newspapers.

The Bristol Rotary Club is proud to have honored a long-time member and past president whose contributions to the club and community truly exemplify the Rotary Motto, “Service Above Self.”
