Speak-Out: Attitude adjustment needed, swings on the street

I’m calling with my concern for the Mt. Hope basketball boys coach. The athletic department needs to have something done with him, THE WAY HE TALKS AND TREATS THOSE KIDS. I’m just concerned he’s going to someone the wrong way and one of the kids are going to turn on him and the kid’s going to be held responsible for it. I have no problem with my son. He gets plenty of playing time. But he’s stressed to me the way the coach comes in yelling, the way he talks, vocal language, speaks down to the kids. I’m not sure about his relationship with the athletic director, but I believe something needs to be done. He needs to either change his attitude or he needs to be removed, because one of these kids is going to turn on him, and then the kid’s going to be held responsible.

I’m calling regarding the CVS on the corner or State and Wood street. This place USED TO BE A WONDERFUL NEIGHBORHOOD PHARMACY. Pharmacists knew us on a first-name basis and looked out for our best interests. It’s a different place now without Tom, the head pharmacist. Tom was let go by CVS due to an error in inventory by another pharmacist. And Tom is gone. After serving over 20 years of dedicated service. Bethany is condescending, a micro-manager and straight-out rude. Many customers have noticed. Pay attention, CVS. If it weren’t for the convenience, and for Judy, Jimmy, Jenny and Laura, I would have been long gone. Tom, we miss you.

I’m calling about last week’s remarks about the Herreshoff SAILBOAT PARKED ON BURNSIDE STREET. And when I read that, I thought I guess the phrase, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” comes to mind. I think it’s terrific and it doesn’t bother me in the least bit being there.

About the SWING SET ON THE CORNER of Walley and High street. I think there should probably be 20 more of them around town. I think that’s also a terrific thing to do. Thank you very much.
