PORTSMOUTH — Professional singers and actors from as far away as New York and Boston joined local talent Saturday in a concert benefit for a worthy cause: major renovations to the very school auditorium in which they were performing.
The eighth “Broadway: From Then Til' Now" show at Portsmouth High School was presented by the Dr. Robert A. Davidson Charitable Fund.
All proceeds from the event benefited the Kate Grana Music & Arts Association, a nonprofit which is raising money for a new sound system, seats, and other improvements to the 50-year-plus-old auditorium.
Featuring music from classic to modern Broadway shows and more, the concerts showcased a talented cast of professional performers from Boston, New York and Rhode Island, plus local students of all ages as well as dancers from Stage Door Dance, Inc.
