Bristol Police arrest two for fighting, others on warrants

The Bristol Police Department made five arrest from Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, including two for men fighting at a bar. They also nabbed a juvenile who was throwing rocks through Maritime Center windows, quieted loud people on the streets late at night, and helped find a "stolen" car.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

  • Someone reported a suspicious car in the area of Aaron Avenue and Turner Road at 1:59 a.m. An officer found no problem; someone was using their car to charge their phone.
  • Someone called police because a private citizen was cutting downed trees on Wood Street at 10:14 a.m. The person was dispersed, and DPW was called to the scene.
  • An officer responded to the Maritime Center at 11:22 a.m. and took a juvenile into custody. The harbormaster had detained the youth because he was throwing rocks through the building’s windows.
  • Police were called to Burnside Street at 12:27 p.m. because a passing vehicle pulled wires from a home.
  • Someone called police at 1:16 p.m. to complain about a man and a woman going door to door in the area of DeWolf Avenue, asking residents if they were interested in electricity rate protection.

Wednesday, Nov. 1

  • Michelle M. Teixeira, 25, of 8 Bliven Ave., Apt. 2, Bristol, was arrested on a warrant and charged with being a fugitive from justice.
  • A caller from Sousa Street complained of people talking in the roadway at 11:35 p.m. She also said she was able to hear music in her bedroom.

Thursday, Nov. 2

  • Officers were called to a verbal argument on Bradford Street at 6:53 p.m. There were no arrests.

Friday, Nov. 3

  • Erick A. Thompson, 23, of Somerset, was arrested on charges of reckless driving, and eluding an officer in a high-speed pursuit.
  • An officer was called to Third Street at 2:17 p.m. to take a report of a past assault. Rescue was called for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault.
  • Officers were called to a verbal argument on Bradford Street at 3:05 p.m. There were no arrests; it was a dispute between roommates.
  • An officer was called to intervene in a neighbor dispute on Dolly Drive at 4:55 p.m.
  • An officer dispersed parties who were loitering at Paull Park on Sherry Avenue at 6:45 p.m.
  • An officer responded to 1776 Liquors, where staff had confiscated a fake ID at 9:16 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 4

  • An officer was called to Dunkin Donuts on Gooding Avenue to take a report of an unruly woman at 12:58 p.m.
  • An officer responded to Rite Aid at 1:02 p.m. to investigate threats made on the premises.
  • Someone reported vandalism to a car on Fried Avenue at 2:39 p.m.
  • A patrolman was called to investigate an unmanned kayak in the water along King Philip Avenue at 3:39 p.m. He pulled the kayak to shore and notified the harbormaster’s office.
  • An officer was called to the area of Wood and Franklin streets to investigate a report of a man chasing people with a shovel at 3:46 p.m.
  • An officer was called to a domestic disturbance on Shaws Lane at 9:42 p.m.
  • People were dispersed from the Mt. Hope boat ramp (the Tee Pees) area at midnight.

Sunday, Nov. 5

  • An officer dispersed two men who were arguing from the area of Mt. Hope Avenue and Wood Street at 1:51 a.m.
  • Someone called to report a car stolen from Adelaide Avenue, but it was found two houses down.
  • An officer was called to Center Street at 2:59 p.m to remove an ex-husband from the residence, but he was gone before police arrived.
  • The staff of the Lincoln Club on St. Elizabeth Street called police to ask that they remove someone from the club at 4 p.m.
  • A Sandy Lane resident was advised to douse an open burning at 4:54 p.m.
  • Two men were arrested after a fight at the Common Pub Grille on Wood Street at 11:44 p.m. Peter H. Rodrigues, 27, of 17 Franklin St., Apt. 2, and David A. Pacheco, 26, of 39 Thompson Ave., Apt. 2, were both charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Monday, Nov. 6

  • Matthew D. Waddell, 30, of 1390 Hope St., Bristol, turned himself in at police headquarters at 6:49 a.m. to be charged with violation of a no-contact order and larceny under $1,500.
