Bristol Police: Arrests for drunk driving, cocaine and drug possession

From April 30 to May 6, Bristol police officers made several arrests, including a drunk-driving stop and two people charged with possession of cocaine and other drugs. Following is a log of incidents from the past week.

Tuesday, April 30

A resident from Siegel Street reported a past break-in.

Wednesday, May 1

Gregory C. McCauley, 34, of 25 Sandy Lane, Bristol, was charged with a warrant out of Newport. He was taken into custody, held at the station and turned over to a Newport officer.

Officers advised Beachmont Avenue residents to turn down loud music at 10:24 p.m.

Thursday, May 2

A Melrose Drive resident called at 5:52 a.m. to complain about an ex-boyfriend destroying property in the house.

An officer advised residents on Goulart Avenue to turn down music at 10:31 p.m.

Friday, May 3

After a caller reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken a window on her car, officers arrested Justin R. Almeida, 22, of 807 Metacom Ave., Bristol, and charged him with domestic vandalism.

Officers arrested two people on drug charges at about 6 p.m. Anthony T. Vasconcellos, 28, of 776 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was charged with possession/delivery of cocaine, possession/delivery of Schedule I/II substances, and possession of controlled substances. Catherine E. Martel, 31, also of 776 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was charged with possession of Schedule I, II, III, IV, V substances, and possession of controlled substances. Vasconcellos was transported to the ACI.

A caller from Wall Street reported people in a black vehicle were removing street signs from poles at 7:11 p.m. Officers checked but did not find the vehicle.

Saturday, May 4

A caller reported loud music from a Rosita Avenue residence at 12:41 a.m. The occupants were advised.

Multiple callers reported a man looking over the railing of the Mt. Hope Bridge at 1:47 a.m. Officers arrived and transported him to the Portsmouth side, where he was taken by rescue to Newport Hospital.

After a traffic stop on the Mt. Hope Bridge at 3:25 a.m., Luke Richard Bernasconi, 21, of Hanover, Mass., was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Joseph S. Rowland, 57, of Middletown, was charged with a Providence Police warrant.

At about 4:30 p.m., Nicole L. Pacheco, 31, of Pawtucket, was charged with a warrant from Pawtucket Police.

Ryan W. Bartell, 22, homeless, was taken into custody near the intersection of Bradford and Central streets, charged with a District Court warrant and transported to the ACI.

A Clipper Way caller complained of noise at 10 p.m.

An officer called Roger Williams public safety to assist a man at the intersection of Metacom and Griswold avenues at 11:43 p.m.

Sunday, May 5

A man was dispersed from the Mt. Hope boat ramp area at 12:21 a.m.

Officers dispersed five people from the area of Bay View and Doran avenues at 12:33 a.m.

An officer requested a Roger Williams University shuttle to Viking Drive at 12:49 a.m. after a caller complained of multiple people being loud outside.

Officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Bay View Avenue at 2:39 a.m. There were no arrests, and one woman was transported from the scene.

A King Philip Avenue caller reported lamps damaged at the end of their driveway.

Officers were called to Casa Margarita on Gooding Avenue at 9:42 p.m. for a disturbance involving about 10 people.

Monday, May 6

At 12:13 a.m., Antwan Rene Antonio, 19, of 5 Wilson St., Apt. 3S, was charged with violation of a no-contact order.
