Miss Carmel I. “Emily” Carmone, age 102, of Silver Creek Manor and formerly of Wood Street, Bristol, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Silver Creek Manor. She was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Palumbo) Carmone.

Emily was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, and was an assembly line worker for many years at the former U.S. Rubber Company, Bristol, until retiring in the early 1970s. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol, and a former member of its Rosary and Altar Society and Nocturnal Adoration Society. She was a volunteer for a number of years at the Bristol VFW post.

Emily loved gardening, both vegetable and flowers for her yard. She was a loving and caring mother figure to all her many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by a brother, George T. Carmone of San Mateo, Calif., and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was the sister of the late Michael V., Frank J., Mary E., and Robert A. Carmone, Vincenza E. Finnegan, Anna C. Aldrich, Josephine C. Valente, and Alice C. Lundry.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, will be Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Thursday morning only at 9 a.m.
