Mrs. Helen B. (Pelchat) Castigliego, age 85, of Roma Street, Bristol, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Domenic M. Castigliego, her husband of 67 years, who preceded her in death in July of 2017.
Born in Providence, raised in Warren, she was a daughter of the late William and Estelle (Fournier) Pelchat. She was a production line worker for the former Bristol Manufacturing Company and then the Converse Rubber Company, formerly in Bristol for 27 years, retiring in 1995.
A communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol, Helen enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Marie McKenzie (George), Donald D. Castigliego, Sr. (Ann), Joyce Faria (Gilbert), and Matteo Castigliego, all of Bristol; ten grandchildren, Lisa Souza, Mark McKenzie (Noreen), Gregory McKenzie (Jennifer), Donald Castigliego, Jr. (Lisa), Domenic Castigliego, Gaetano Castigliego, Kevin Faria (Samantha), Gilbert Faria, Jr., Kimberly Silva (Kevin), and Marissa Castigliego; and 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Colette Petty (Frank) of Warren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will be private, and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
