Ida Josephs, 95, Bristol

Mrs. Ida (Texeira) Josephs, 95, of Wood Street, Bristol, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Anthony Josephs, who preceded her in death in 1999. 

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Maria Gloria (dosSantos) Texeira. Ida was a clerical worker for the former RICO Manufacturing Company in Bristol for 40 years, retiring in 1980. She had previously worked for Converse Rubber Company, formerly in Bristol, and the former Bristol Manufacturing Company. 

Ida was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Harbor Lights group at the church. She was active with the Benjamin Church Senior Citizen Center and the Franklin Court Senior Center activities.  

She is survived by a son, A. William Josephs (Charlotte); a daughter, Sharon A. Reynolds (John); a granddaughter, Kelly A. Medeiros (Luis-Jared); and a great grandson, Jared A. Medeiros, all of Bristol. 

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Wednesday morning only from 9-10 a.m.
