To the editor:
Thank you very much for your article on the work of Haiti’s Child, which appeared in last week’s Phoenix. It surely captioned the essence of the plight of the poorest of the poor and efforts made to relieve their suffering, as well as educating their youth.
The fundraiser held on Saturday, April 8, by Bristol Rotary, resulted in $15,521 raised for this compelling cause. We are appreciative to all those who attended, as well as made donations, or provided gifts to our auction.
I would also like to mention a fourth Bristolian who was with us on the recent trip. Margarita Chaves was our assistant pharmacy technician. She appeared in the background of the picture on page one with myself and Mary Watkinson.
