Liduina Filomena Silveira Soares, 93, Bristol
Liduina Filomena Silveira (Matos) Soares, 93, of River Street, Bristol, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at Grace Barker Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Antonio Jesus Soares.
Born in Pria do Norte, Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Sergio and Angelica (daSilveira) Matos. She was the sister of Antonio Matos and the late Sergio Matos, Manuel Matos, Joao Matos, Delfina Correia, Isaltina Ferreira, Maria Andrade and Emilia Martins.
Mrs. Soares was educated in Portugal and worked for Davol Industries before retiring.
Her funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 31, from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Luis Garcia Dutra at St. Elizabeth’s Church.
Liturgical readings were by Maria “Gigi” Ferreira and Isilida Machado. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Elizabeth Matos. The offertory gifts were presented by Sue Cordeiro and Sandra Traibman. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Ferreira, Tony Matos, Jose L. Correira, Antonio Andrade, Lee Traibman and Fernando Andrade.
