Lucy M. Mello, 92, of Warren

Lucy M. ( Silva) Mello, 92, of Warren, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren. 

She was the wife of the late Gilbert Mello.

Lucy was born in Warren, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sanchas) Silva.

She was a machine operator for the Dixon Manufacturing Company of Bristol for many years.

Mrs. Mello was a Warren resident all of her life, and a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she was a CCD Teacher for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Mello is survived by her children, Gilbert and Judy Mello Jr. of the Villages, Fla., David and Susan Mello of Sutton, Mass., and Cynthia and Peter Chapman of Warren; and her sister, Hilda Gomes of North Attleboro, Mass.

She was the grandmother of Neil, Nicholas and Marybeth, Jonathan and Tricia, Cassandra and Steve, Zachary, Nathaniel and Regan, Colleen and Gabrielle.

Mrs. Mello was the great-grandmother of 5.

She is also survived by her niece, Connie Burke, who was like a caretaker for her, and many other nieces and nephews.

Lucy was the sister of the late Manuel Silva, Joseph Silva, Mary Pacheco, Alice Veader and Dolores Costa.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at 9 a.m. from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
