A 52-year-old Rehoboth man had a frightful episode when he drove his car straight down a boat ramp and into Bristol Harbor late on Thursday, Dec. 20. According to Bristol Police Capt. Brian Burke, the man appeared to have suffered from a medical emergency and was disoriented when his car drove west, down the State Street boat ramp, and came to rest in a few feet of water, its front end submerged, at 10:39 p.m.

Capt. Burke said there was no indication that the car had struck anything, there were no signs of visible damage to the car, and there were no signs that the driver was intoxicated. He suffered no injuries from the accident, but he was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after he was removed from the car.
