At the risk of stating the obvious: Don’t take to the roads today.

Even if the idea of a white-knuckle ride down Route 114 in Bristol or East Main Road in Portsmouth in the middle of a raging thundersnow storm gives you a thrill, the current white-out conditions will endanger you and others if you’re behind the wheel.

Stay inside, hunker down, heat up some cocoa and cozy up in front of the fire.

If you’re one of the unlucky ones and had to report to work today, stay inside and ride it out until the roads are clear. As these photos prove, road conditions aren’t exactly safe. Now’s not the time to head out to Stop & Shop for the olive oil you ran out of.

Please, allow your local DPW and state workers to do their jobs.

Stay safe everyone.
