Thomas Andrews, Sr., 80, of Warren

Thomas Andrews, Sr., 80, of Warren, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at home.

He was born in Bristol, a son of the late Henry J. and Rosa (Barbeto) Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was a self-employed carpenter for many years.

Thomas lived in Warren for more than 50 years, coming from Bristol. He attended Abundant Life Church in Swansea.

He spent a lot of time at Sip ’n Dip Donuts. He was a very loving and generous family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Thomas was considered a Master Craftsman in carpentry, by some of his customers.

Mr. Andrews is the father of Judith Lopes of Bristol, and Sandra Paiva of Swansea, and the brother of Harry Andrews of Key West, Fla., and O.J. Andrews of Bristol.

He was the grandfather of Keith Johnson, Denton Johnson, Skyler Lopes, Nicholas Paiva and Samantha Paiva; also the great-grandfather of four. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was the brother of the late Frank Andrews, and the late John Andrews. He was the father of the late Thomas Andrews Jr.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
